Extended Day Enrichment Program

SouthSide Charter Extended Day Enrichment program offer classes that extend the learning for students beyond the classroom and school day. The enrichment program focuses on continuing to help students make solid steps towards college and community leadership by shaping the well-rounded knowledge of students through hands on projects and activities in many areas including literacy, mathematics, physical fitness, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) and ethnic studies. As part of SouthSide’s extended day, enrichment classes are held from 3:00pm – 4:00pm Monday - Thursday and 2:00pm - 4:00pm on Fridays.  Each class is designed and led by a SouthSide Charter staff, youth organization, or community instructor. 

 

For our Freedom Friday programming, three sessions of classes are offered each school year. Each class meets (13) thirteen times for one hour each week. There is no cost to enroll in the enrichment classes, but some programs on Friday may require a predetermined fee. If school is canceled or delayed for any reason, Enrichment classes will also be canceled and will not be made up.

1. Extended Day Enrichment Classes is from 3:00pm – 4:00pm on Monday – Thursday & Freedom Friday Programs is from 2:00pm – 4:00pm on Friday. 2. Students who do not enroll in the Extended Day Program will be picked up at 3:00pm Monday – Thursday & 2:00pm Friday   3. Afternoon bus transportation will only be provided for Extended Day participants.
