Extended Day Enrichment Program
SouthSide's Extended Day Enrichment program offers classes that extend the learning for students beyond the classroom and school day. The enrichment program focuses on continuing to help students make solid steps towards college and community leadership by shaping the well-rounded knowledge of students through hands on projects and activities in many areas including literacy, mathematics, physical fitness, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) and ethnic studies. As part of SouthSide’s extended day, enrichment classes are held from 3:00pm – 4:00pm Monday - Thursday and 2:00pm - 4:00pm on Fridays. Each class is designed and led by a SouthSide Charter staff, youth organization, or community instructor.
For our Freedom Friday programming, three sessions of classes are offered each school year. Each class meets (13) thirteen times for two hours each week. There is no cost to enroll in the enrichment classes. If school is canceled or delayed for any reason, Enrichment classes will also be canceled and will not be made up.
